Valentine's Day

It is the night before Valentine's Day - what does this mean to me?  Nothing really... Although I seem to be in the V-Day spirit - sporting my heart scarves, wearing my red jacket, buying a card for my husband, making sure Oliver wears his vday outfit tomorrow.  But REALLY what does it mean to me?  Nothing.

If I have to choose between getting overpriced flowers and yucky tasting chocolate and try to snag a table at a crowded restaurant just to have proof that my husband cares?  Nah I am good...  I'd rather go with the normal route - random flowers throughout the year :)

Patrick - Thank you again for sending flowers to my work last month :)  They were beautiful!!!

Where did the time go?!?

6 months ago I was a very pregnant and very hot and ready to meet my baby. All I wanted was to hold him in my arms.

Here I am now 6 months later a Mom to the most amazing (biased - I know) and cutest (people keep saying that a lot) baby. We've had our ups and downs, we've laughed more than cried. I've done some crazy things to soothe him (let's be glad there is no picture of the straight out of shower let's calm the baby in the carrier while freezing to death). Sometimes no matter what you, he still cries. I've learned alot about myself and I've grown as a person. Sleeping has become a thing of the past and I hope to discover it again in the future ;) However hearing him laugh and babble, seeing his face light up and smile when he sees me, Patrick or Frankee, feeling his touch fills my heart with joy.

Let's not forget about Patrick: he has been pretty amazing with our son, there are some moments I shake my head, but most of the time he is in control. I don't care what he thinks, but pants are not optional during the winter! Even Frankee seems to be ok with Oliver now, she is realizing that he will be a food supply very soon.

I still have no idea how the last six months just flew by...

Snow and Babies

It is already a challenge to get yourself and your baby ready for anything in the morning but add snow to the equation and tag on another 30 min...

Today I had a dentist appointment at 09:30 and I started getting ready at 07:00 and I still got there 10 minutes late!!!!

I think I have the hang on getting myself and Oliver ready in the morning, but that snow - as beautiful as it is - is a HUGE pain in my a$$.  Before Oliver traveling in snow was not that complicated, but today I had to go to the car - parked in the driveway - prior to leaving with him, why?  Well what if there is ice around the car and I am carrying him and the 3,500 bags and things that have to go with us now everywhere we go - how am I supposed to keep my balance and not slip?  Snow is also taking away the shortest path from house to car and believe me 19lbs baby in 20lbs car seat plus above mentioned 3,500 bags is nothing I want to carry for a longer period of time.

How will next winter be?

However - he does look cute in the snow ;)

5 months already

Christmas is so last year and here we are in 2011.  Oliver is already 5 months old...

Here I thought I would turn into this super blogger and share my thoughts and opinions on being a Mommy and vowed to do it quiet often... hmmmm that didn't happen....

Anyways here is to writing more about our live :)

Oliver can - if he wants to - flip from his tummy onto his back.  He is not a big fan of tummy time, he enjoys it for the first few minutes but then gets angry because he is stuck and flip over :(  he prefers to show off his "trick" while wearing the least amount of clothes, however it being winter time it is kind of tough to grant him that wish ;)

Another great activity he enjoys is jumping up and down in his Johnny Jumper.  He also can sit for maybe 5 seconds without any support.  We also started feeding him in his highchair and so far so good :)  I love the fact that we are now forced to eat more at the dinner table instead in front of the TV.

He still sleeps in the co-sleeper but it is getting tight in there... I can't believe 5 months ago he was the smallest little button and now he will outgrow the bassinet very soon :(  We also converted his stroller into the big boy version and he LOVES it!!!!

It is amazing to see his development with his toys - he has now a pretty good grip on his toys and his motor skills amaze me :)

His solid food intake also increased now to two meals a day - we will increase it to three meals a day in the next two to three weeks.  Green foods are not as well liked as other foods, but mix in some apple or other fruit and he is in heaven
